Big Sky Engagement Photography

Let me just say these two are the best. Our Big Sky engagement shoot was so much fun. Michelle and Spencer are beekeepers, how cool is that? They live in California part of the year and Montana the rest and move their bees back and forth. I love learning about what other people do and the interesting lives they lead. While I am bummed that I am not available for their wedding day I am so thrilled I got to meet them and get some rad photos.

Our first stop in Big Sky was a quick drink at Choppers – it’s a great way to loosen up and chat a little. Then we headed to some gorgeous locations on the Gallatin River, some mountains views and experimented with some colored smoke. I had never worked with it before but we had several canisters of white and blue smoke. It was challenging and fun to work with – but when the wind changes we got choked out! The smoke would go off for about 90 seconds and luckily we had several to try.

It was a great day and I hope to see these guys again when the are in the area – they even brought me some of their honey! (Wingfield Apiaries) You guys are the best!

P.S. I love their clothing choices from laid back Montana to dressy to cute casual – great choices to have some variety in the shoot!
