Roosevelt Gate Area
As an elopement photographer, there’s an undeniable allure to capturing the raw, intimate moments between couples amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Yellowstone National Park. Growing up in Montana, this park has always had place in my heart. While most of the park is actually in Wyoming – the majority of the entrances and Yellowstone International Airport (in Bozeman) is in Montana.
Did you know Yellowstone is the first National park and the largest?!
We recommend full day elopements to have plenty of time to explore the park for several locations for portraits before or after your ceremony. This also allows plenty of time to not rush as traffic is slow in the park and busiest from late June to late August.

Two Ribbons Area
For couples seeking a more secluded and intimate experience, the Lamar Valley offers sweeping vistas of untouched wilderness. This more remote corner of the park is home to abundant wildlife, including bison, elk, and wolves. Were not saying you are guaranteed to see wildlife anywhere in the park but this area usually has some bison roaming around. Imagine saying “I do” as the sun sets behind the rugged peaks, painting the sky in hues of pink and gold.
Not Recommended: Old Faithful
As one of the most famous geysers in the world, we don’t really recommend this location. There are too many people and does not lend to an intimate experience.
