Surprise Proposal – ALL ARE WELCOME
When Megan reached out to me about her surprise proposal in Big Sky I knew we would come up with something awesome and we sure did!
Megan + Kimmy were on a trip with friends to Big Sky and Megan knew it was the perfect time to ask Kimmy to marry her. In our first email she said “She is my whole world, and I can’t wait to spend our lives together.” Does it get any sweeter than that?!
Surprise Proposal Photography
With the help of their friends we planned a fun day riding the lift up at big Sky Resort for a picnic up top. Some bystanders helped too by pretending I was taking photos of them as the our two approached. (I always send these images to our helpful bystanders by the way!) As Megan led Kimmy to the agreed upon spot with Lone Mountain the background, my heart was racing. You try to be sneaky and not obvious when photographing surprise proposals but it is nerve wracking for sure! We had the most lovely, cloudy day that made for awesome lighting up there at 9000 ft. They said yes!
A few people who were in the area were cheering and smiling from ear to ear and even strangers congratulated them as we walked back down the viewing area. I love that shit! Seriously, people can be so awesome sharing in each others joy!
As we walked down toward the lift our couple’s friends joined us in tearful, ecstatic hugs! We spent more time up top wandering to another awesome view, popping champs and enjoying the moment. I ended up spending quite a bit of time up there with this group as they were so much fun and of course offered me a beer too.
